What we’re looking for

 

  • Bachelor of Nursing with current AHPRA registration
  • Experience working in women and children's health or caring for people who have experienced family, domestic and sexual violence
  • Demonstrated ability to provide trauma informed care
  • Strong advocacy skills
  • Well-developed communication (verbal, written and listening) and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team
  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills to effectively plan and prioritise work

 

The role

 

 

  • Work with women and their children who are in crisis accommodation
  • Recognise and respond to the health needs of victim-survivors of family, domestic and sexual violence
  • Be part of a Primary Healthcare Outreach Team (PHOT) consisting of a GP, Practice Nurse and Health Linker providing medical treatment and care coordination
  • Manage brokerage funding to overcome barriers to timely access to public health services
  • Work together across service and organisational boundaries as part of a multi-agency team of service providers (eg health, housing, justice, safety, education).
