The opportunity

The Bequest and Philanthropy Partner is responsible for the continued development and implementation of Silverchain Foundation’s Gift in Wills program Silver Links, as well as supporting Silverchain Foundation’s major giving program. The role will help to grow the organisation’s high impact support, fulfilling a key role for the ACNC-registered Silverchain Foundation.

 

Reporting to the Philanthropy Manager, you will work in collaboration with the Silverchain Foundation team, as well as Silverchain Group’s Strategic Communications function, and the Finance, Legal, and Research & Innovation teams.

 

The role will steward donors, cultivate a gift-in-will program, provide genuine and engaging supporter care, and build two-way relationships between bequestors and the Foundation. You will also identify, acquire and steward mid and major donors across individual giving, trusts and foundations and as required, corporate giving.

 

Key responsibilities

The Bequest and Philanthropy Partner will have the below major responsibilities: 

  • Developing, growing, and managing the Bequest Program, Silver Links: create and manage bequest and planned giving programs, including supporter journeys, donor relations, and engagement.
  • Enhancing donor relations: produce and improve donor relations with new and existing supporters through bespoke personalised engagement, ongoing stewardship, and retention activities.
  • Building relationships with stakeholders: liaise and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to identify and build bequest and planned giving opportunities.
  • Creating donor journey communications: develop and deliver complete donor journey communications across multiple channels to qualify and support individuals in their giving journey, including phone calls, face-to-face interactions, and written communications.
  • Maintaining supporter records: apply best practices in maintaining supporter records, including profiles, documentation, conversation, and meeting notes using customised CRM.
  • Managing estate administration: manage estate administration for the organisation, including collaboration and communication with executors, lawyers, probate, and other beneficiaries, with support from the Legal team.
  • Applying analytical and research skills: utilise strong analytical and research skills to prepare detailed reports and recommendations on program goals, pipeline management, and individual cases.
  • Coordinating bequest and major donor events: develop, coordinate, and deliver events and engagement activities to support donor interest and stewardship.

 

About you

  • A tertiary qualification in Fundraising, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Development or relevant qualification is desirable.
  • Proven experience of five or more years in the fundraising non-profit sector in a similar or related role, with experience coordinating and supporting high value relationships.
  • Significant knowledge of fundraising and bequest best practice, principles, legislation and ethical standards, including appreciation of the sensitive and confidential nature of such programs.
  • Strong level of knowledge of relationship-based fundraising, moving donors through a pipeline and creating donor journeys.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, respectful, and robust relationships, while managing and supporting a portfolio of stakeholders.
  • Robust attention to detail, with strong time management, project management skills and organisational skills.
  • Advanced computer literacy, including Microsoft 365 suite and experience in the use of CRM systems, particularly fundraising specific modules.
